Sort Smart, Recycle Right - Environmental Education Program
ReCreate is pleased to announce that Sacramento County’s Department of Waste Management & Recycling – SacGreenTeam -- has again chosen ReCreate to provide waste reduction education programs to students, grades 2-5 for the 2023-2024 school year. The presentation includes important information about how to sort smart and recycle right. Our in-class presentation is followed by a fun art project.
Sharing this program with your students is as easy as 1,2,3!
1. Ask two or three teachers to partner with you in choosing a date for ReCreate to come to your school. We can accommodate three or four classes in a day. Third grade has scheduling priority until Oct 15.

3. Check your email for initial confirmation. We will be in contact to set the exact timing and order of our class visits.
Schedule a County garbage/recycling truck to visit your class:
To complement our presentation, we encourage you to schedule a visit from a County garbage or recycling truck for your students to see up close! Send an email to SacGreenTeam@saccounty.gov with at least two optional dates/time, grade level, and number of students – and the SacGreenTeam will get back to you to schedule a truck visit to your school.
